How To Use Attribute Controller


 This is your Home Page

 

 

 

 

  1. Select Catalog in the main 
    menu bar.
  2. Select Attributes Controller.

 

 

This tutorial will show you how to add pricing to different sizes of the same item.

We will be using artwork for examples of how the price varies with the size of art work.

  1. Select Your Category where the attributes will be used.

  1. Select Option Names
    1. (at the top the the Attributes Controller Main Page.)

 


This is your Product Options page


 

  1. Under Option name - The Size attribute is what is used to display the different sizes of your artwork. (Example below)
    1. Type in Size
    2. Order number
      1. Start with 1
    3. Option Type - the below list contains your options:
      1. Drop down - drop down menu bar (Example)-what you just clicked to see the selection of these items.
      2. Text - (Example)- Initials for monogram - Text box
      3. Radio Buttons - Customer can only choose ONE item- small circles to select sizes.
      4. Check box -Customers can choose any COMBINATION of options- small boxes to select sizes.
      5. File - Customer uses to upload image- (Example) company logo.
      6. Read Only - Makes copy non-editable.
    4. Select Radio for this example.

  1. Select Option Values
    1. This is where the different sizes will come into play. (Example :: Small :: Medium:: Large:: X-Large::)

This is your Option Values Main Page

  1. In the Option Name select Size.
    1. This is the option we just created.
  2. Option value
    1. Starting with 5"x 7"
    2. Sort order
      1. Sizes will start with 10, with every new option value going up by one (there are no in-between sizes).
    3. Click Insert.
  3. Repeat steps 7 and 8 as many times need.

 You have just created your option values.

 

Now we are going to put prices to each of the values.

How to Add Different Prices to Different Size Values

 


Make sure you have your shopping cart window open on a separate page or tab, so you can view the work you're doing. Remember to REFRESH / RELOAD your page whenever you make changes to the controller page. 

 

  1. Select Catalog
  2. Select Attributes Controller

 

This is your Attributes Controller Selection Menu

Under your Categories: - test

  1. Click the drop down arrow
  2. Select the category you want attributes to be used on, ("Artwork")

 

 

This is your Attributes Controller Main Menu

 

  1.  Select your product in the menu you want to add attributes to.
    1. Blue Hills ($10.00) [30]- ID#6
      is my selection.
    2. Double click on the name

Adding New Attributes should show up

  1. Under Option Name select your Option type.
    1. Size [Radio]
  2. Option Value - (I'm starting with the smallest size frame, but you can start with any size you want.)
    1. 5"x7" [SIZE]
  3. Price - 1st set at "0" because this is the standard size and price.
    1. 0
  4. Order - the order you want the size and price to show up on your cart.
    1. 0 - 0 is before 1
  5. Click Insert

 

Once you select Insert you will see that you have created your first attribute setting.
This shows up under your ID# with the item

Scroll down the page and you will see the same menu you just filled out.

 

 
  1. Under Option Name select your Option type.
    1. Size [Radio]
  2. Option Value - (I'm starting with the smallest size frame, but you can start with any size you want.)
    1. 8"x10" [SIZE]
  3. Price - This time I want the price to go up with the size by $2.00
    1. 2
  4. Order - the order you want the size and price to show up on your cart.
    1. 1 - 1
  5. Click Insert.

Once again this should show up under your ID # with the item

Continue with the same steps above.

The Frame size is going up again.
so the price will go up another $2.00
 

 

 

 

 

If you were to go on your site and look at your shopping cart, you would see something similar to this:

 

Go back to step 5 and repeat the same process using a different category.

Using your websites shopping cart as a reference is always important.

Always make sure that you are editing the correct Item

Repeat the steps until the items are all complete with anttributes.

 

You have just created your own Attributes for your items.
